Summary

This is an original work of art and no reproductions will be made.

It was created over a period of two weeks in late 2009. I had Tarot cards on my mind when creating this, but didn't want to just rehash old stereotypes. The juxtaposition of the 8 and the infinity symbol provides something philosophical as well as metaphysical. The black of the charcoal and the "distressing" of the card give it an ancient feel.

It's hard to tell from a distance whether this is a photograph or a drawing. Up close you see the definition of the rubbing of the charcoal and the care taken to maintain the texture of the card. This would be great for a den, library or reading room.

Care

Though fixatif has been sprayed on the drawing to keep it from smudging, it should be kept out of areas of high humidity like kitchens, bathrooms and outdoors. This item will come in a frame (not shown in the pictures) with a black matte to ensure the item is protected, but the new owner will likely want to have it professionally framed with non-glare glass.
