This is a painting inspired by the Heceta Head Lighthouse in Oregon. When I first worked on the painting I had no idea what the lighthouse was called or where it was, just that it looked beautiful. If you look at photographs of the real thing you can see there are many differences. Mainly that I didn't paint any of the trees near the lighthouse. I tried, but just couldn't get them to look the way I wanted. This was my third oil painting.
