Store Stacking Blocks

Each set includes seven hand-shaped balancing stones made from a curated mix of hardwoods. Each is cut, shaped and faceted by hand and finished with hardwax oil (food safe and non-toxic).

These are decorative objects as much as they are balancing toys. They work well on a desk, shelf or coffee table and make a thoughtful gift for anyone who appreciates craftsmanship and natural materials.

These are also known as Tumi Ishi or Montessori blocks and have been used for generations to improve hand-eye coordination and to cultivate patience.

Each set comes in a small cotton storage bag.

• Each stone has an "easy" orientation where there are two flat, parallel sides making stacking quick and easy. To increase the challenge, turn the stone to one of the other facets.
• Some stones will have cracks, splits, holes and spalting to add to the visual appeal and the challenge of stacking them.
• Sanding marks and ridges have been left on some facets to make them easier to stack.
• Each set has been quality tested to ensure that all seven can be stacked in multiple ways.
• The mix of woods varies with what’s most beautiful in the shop, so each set has its own character and color palette. Typical species: red oak, hickory, ambrosia maple, sugar maple, red maple, black walnut, purpleheart, ipé.
