Hagstrom Swede Intake

Intakes are always a special occassion and there's bound to be at least one significant surprise. Sort of like a Christmas gift from your crazy uncle. As a result, I make sure I have some time to spend, my camera and a cup of coffee handy and some patience. The Hagstrom Super Swede was no exception.

The eBay auction description was pretty straightforward. The guitar was "New" but broken in shipping. The pictures clearly showed that the headstock was broken off and that someone had stripped the guitar and put the peices in labeled zip loc bags. I put in a bid such that if I couldn't get it to play again, it would still work as an art peice.

Long story short, there were several peices missing, many of the screws were stripped, the pickup switch was broken, the pickguard and electronics covers were bent due to excessive heat, the potting wax of one of the pickups had melted all over it, pickup ring, strap button and screws were missing and so on. Since none of these things was mentioned in the description the seller worked with me a bit on the price, for which I was very grateful, since now I needed to buy an extra $40 worth of parts to make this play (or even look like a complete guitar if it was going to be art).
