Hickory Headboard Details

Project Details

Designed to fit a California king size bed, I did not take the usual steps of leveling the entire slab to make it entirely flat. Instead I used contour sanding to make it appear visually flat but without the risk of breaking what was a pretty fragile peice of wood. The features that make this piece of hickory special also make it a bit fragile so special care was taken to hide edges that might get caught on clothing or sheets and damaged behind the maple stiles.
