Home And Garden Driftwood Footstool

Belt of Venus

Named for the fleeting band of rose and amber that appears at dusk along the New England coast, "Belt of Venus" captures that quiet moment when day exhales into evening. The spalted pine top carries warm sunset tones and naturally drawn lines, each one shaped by time, weather and the subtle work of fungi that turns imperfection into beauty. Its surface reads like a shoreline at low tide, calm, textured and alive.

The legs are fashioned from a driftwood oak barrel stave, weathered into a soft gray through years of use and exposure, with pink and salmon highlights that complement the colors of the top.

Together, the materials tell a story of reuse and transformation, where overlooked wood finds a second life as a functional sculpture. Compact, sturdy and quietly expressive, "Belt of Venus" works equally well as a footstool, a low perch or a sculptural accent and would feel at home in a beach house or modern home.

I have some pine stock used to make the top left over for a few more stools. Click Custom Order to find out more.
