Elm is a particularly difficult wood to work with since it's hard, but also contains these strange sticky fibers that almost instantly clog up any tools or sandpaper. Without the wood disc on my angle grinder, this project would have been nearly impossible. With a bit of mineral spirits on the roughly-sanded top (bottom), you can see why I was so drawn to this wood.
